Freyr is the brother of the goddess Freya and the son of the sea god Njord. He possesses several magical items, including a ship that always finds favourable winds and can be folded to fit in a pocket, and a golden-bristled boar that lights up the darkest night.
Freyr's worship was widespread, particularly in Sweden, where he was considered an ancestor of the royal house. His connection to agricultural and natural abundance made him one of the most revered deities in the Norse pantheon.
